Sometimes I forget to turn it off and it will drain, and that is normal.Good morning,
First of all I wanted to thank everyone who replied or commented on my review.
Back from vacation (15 days) I was surprised to discover the DX240 battery completely flat when I had charged it to 100% before my departure and the most serious left off and not used. it's getting better and better!!!
do you experience this same type of inconvenience ?
Best regards
Good morningGo to Setting -> Audio, turn off Auto Mute.
This prevent the dap from turning off the amplifier once a song stop playing. Starting the amplifier require a bit of time, thats why you notice 1 sec cut off
Nice take on this one, two weeks ago did mod my amp5mod, changed the nichicons for audio note kasei BP 25uf16v and the Siemens one for audio note standard 470uf16v. Didn't believe but love this way more now. The way imaging and timbre have changed is spectacular, would love to be able to put audio note kasei instead of the standard one aswell, but size limits take that away. Here's the pic. It warmed up over time (I use it sporadically so took a while) so I finished it off with the a 3rd ES cap to replace the silmic I had previously use at the front. I paused from doing that originally as I already had a good result but found it would voice more to my preferences with all 3 being Nichicon ES once settled in. Board has been through the mill, LOL. Don't care as I'm thrilled with this board and player as is right now.

I suspect you could squeeze a 220uf 16v Kaisei in there. The value is plenty high and then some for the purpose. The rest is voicing. On my other boards, I threw a 2.2uf silmic across the stock 220uf with good result.Nice take on this one, two weeks ago did mod my amp5mod, changed the nichicons for audio note kasei BP 25uf16v and the Siemens one for audio note standard 470uf16v. Perhaps, but not in the same spot, have squeezed one in in my amp1mk3 , but it's barely in there and it has nothing underneath it on that board if I'm right, amp5 has some stuff underneath that place.I suspect you could squeeze a 220uf 16v Kaisei in there. There is always a better DAP. It's really all about personal preferences and budget. I have tried a handful of DAPs and the DX240 is the best combination of sound, features (Swappable amps) and form factor under $1000. The AMP8 MK2S really takes the DX240 to the next level for me.Wondering if any body here who has listened to other daps feels there is a better dap out there than dx240 ? I have been looking at the dx320 and maybe the Sony wm1a but not sure if any real benefit of either or others ? The rabbit hole continues ...

I think it is. And IMO, the WM1A is not better than the DX240. And the DX240 has better power. It's worth to buy MK2S when I have MK2?

The DX320 uses two ROHM dac chips so a different sound and two batteries, one for the analog and one for the digital. They both have their qualities. I do think the DX320 is one of the best DAPs on the market but for the money, I don't think you can beat the DX240. That doesn't answer your question but it also comes down to preferences. The DX240 is extremely portable and for me, very enjoyable with IEMs and portable headphones. I use the DX320 in the cars a lot as a source but the DX240 can do this as well.I see you have also DX320, is it much better than DX240 with MK2S?
