Is it normal to have some hissing in the background with the Amp 9?
Since the AMP9 is a tube based amp, if you are using sensitive IEMs, yes, you will hear some. With the later firmware updates, there are two settings for the AMP9. One is much quieter, and the other puts out much more power for headphones etc.

Thank you. I’ll see if that changes anything. I’m currently using the Fourte Noirs and the hissing was very apparent. Even with music playing.

@Lurker0 @Paul - iBasso Bro is there any benefit in getting the Sandisk 1Tb A2 card over A1 category card.
1Tb A2 Sandisk
As far as I understand the host has to have protocol enabled to utilize the high IOPS of A2 card. Will my DX220 gain any performance improvements in track seeking or browsing the library?
Thank you!

It is still UHS-I. AFAIR the SoC supports SDR104, and it is enabled in drivers. A2 rating is only the card internal speed.

A1 or A2 should not make any difference on your DAP unless you have installed the SD card to be used as internal space. In that case the A rating is important because applications can also be stored and executed from the microSD card.

The rating basically just tells you if it reaches a minimum specification of random read and write operations in a certain timeframe. That has no relevance if you are just reading or writing music files from/on the SD card.

Yesterday my dx220 sound a bit muddier in only right side. I thought there's something wrong with the jack port, then i restarted the device and it sound back to normal.

This is maybe the weirdest and most annoying bug in DAP i ever experienced. Makes me think the trouble comes from my cans or the port, but i think it software bug. I prefer it freeze or doesnt sound at all, so i know it needs to be restarted.

I am using stock amp with latest firmware and tested the sound with both stereo and mono mode.

Yes this happened to me few times also.. got me super worried I have overdriven my headphones.

Was this in Manog OS or Android?

Both times I remember this issue occurred in Mango for me.

Hi there,

yes this happens occasionally. Usually in Mango Mode though. Try a different headphone.

I get the feeling that we've been pushed aside from the iBasso olympus with the new 300 and this model its going to be forgotten veeeeery fast in terms of updates and optimizations... :frowning2:
