Morning guys, I would like to know if someone with deeply acknowledge on tech specs can confirm if this statement its true related 4.4 to 3.5 adapter located on this website

https://www.ddhifi.com/newsinfo/574...zhMkSP9ITgg9HP2o7A3qKG9wYTYFHCPaPm9K2PCaJtfIM

Basically it says:

B. How to transform 4.4mm BAL. DAP into 3.5mm single-ended output?

There are 5 sections on the 4.4mm balanced plug, which are L+, L-, R+, R- and G-. Same as above, it’s harmful to the device if we short-circuit the negative poles of the left and right channels. The correct method is to take advantage of the ground wire of the 4.4mm plug, and to simulate the 3.5mm single-ended connection, that’s the way we do to the DJ30A.

Do we know if the amp8 output its feasible to use with this adapter and its not dangerous for the amp module? Thanks !

This is what i use since 2019.
Esp. the 2.5 bal to 3.5 SE

Same deal w/ the hyper short upgrade, 2.5 BAL to 3.5 SE. Oyaide plug and terminals, Solid OF copper jumpers.
Sounds better, more apparent holographic imaging, esp. depth.
The DD sounds very neutral & 2d

They have their own balance cable, i.e. Z1R...

This (DJ30A) I believe, being used by @audio123
for all of his Ibasso daps incl. the 220MAX...

Any more news about the peculiar thing?
So far nothing to write about. I'm always in the mango os.
I go to android to transfer files, that's about it...

So i sold off the Amp8EX that @Whitigir designed and organized with iBasso.

i love the DX220 and think the Amp8EX completes it.

lately i have been using the DX300 more due to battery life and ui speed (not that that matters much as i play off micro sd card mainly).

one can kind of kind of imitate the DX220 sound on the DX300 with the slow roll off filter etc (i forget i would have to check my notes).
Still the DX220 has a certain ‘special sauce’ to the sound.

More battery life would be excellent.

I sold it for less than the purchase price and the amount it goes for online these days, being a preciou$ piece. I am happy i found a good home where it will be used and appreciated.

i shall miss it.

so now - maybe use it with amp9??? Undecided.

It is in absolute terms, the DX312 is one of the very Best (if not THE Best) Solid state sounding DAP in the planet, w/ superlative back up time and ui.
The DX229 is One of the VERY best (if not the very best) tube or solid state Sounding DAP in the planet.

There is something very realistic in its timbral quality that distinguishes itself from solid state, regardless of make.

Albeit, our premium daps ALL sound excellent in their own properties, we get to decide which tuning we prefer.
Ultimately, MOST users will get to decide and choose LONGER back up time, excellent UI experience and lastly the SQ

True SQ matters above all else.

yes. It took a while to decide.

Finally i decided that DX300 with Amp11mark2 was a worthy successor to DX220 amp8EX. Both have pluses and minuses - but so close.

From my DX300 review:
very close. Amp8EX is a bit more organic whereas Amp11mark2 is more precise. But they seem to share an overall similar close enough signature (dacs aside sum of parts and teh whole etc etc...).

I found with the right filter on the DX300 & amp11mark2 i could get close enough to the amp8EX sound that i am selling the one i bought.’

- but i ended up using the NOS filter the most.

@ehjie do you use amp9 mostly with DX220?

The pitch from the past, Killer specs! desktop sound in a portable device.

Ibasso kept their word, they delivered. Hence, a loyal patron here.

Sure, my 229 is very far from the perfect device. The ui (pure mango os) is so so and the back up time is very far from ideal.
So is this world (far from perfect), lol.
I learned to live with, I'm old school (i.e. since vinyl, cassette tape, cd) >>> Go to folder by genre. Select folder by artist. Select Album. Hit play and I'm immersed in my Big hi-fi music :)

Old habits, I suppose. Some things never change...

@ehjie ok i will migrate to the amp9.

Other times artist and pick an album.

thanks my friend
Your welcome

Even with the 312 as Technically

I have no doubt in my mind
You're gonna love the 229 just as much...

Good afternoon everyone.
I would like to spend around 500 for a good DAP that can drive a HD650 decently (I didn't write "perfectly" because I know the beast) and IEMs (to choose from): is it still worth getting a second-hand DX220 today?
Or better to move towards new, perhaps less renowned products (Hiby, DX160, etc) with more recent OS?
I would like to try streaming via wifi (Tidal or AppleMusic) and that's why I'm a little worried about the age of the DX220.
How about? Thanks for your opinions!

How about a DX300 - Very smartphone like properties.
If you do solid streaming and SQ is a priority - i suggest DX160
Please refer to the DX160 thread, no dap is perfect for streaming in this price range usd.500, regardless of brand

Hi guys! Can someone please tell me if it is safe for tubes to connect dx 220 with amp 9 to aux in my car? Amp9 doesn't have line out and I don't think that changing amps for every ride is a good idea either.

Yes, from previous post - it is possible for amp9 to aux.
