If more/better mid definition is what you're wanting, you'd likely be verry happy with AK SP1000, SP1000m, or SP2000. SP1000m has silky smooth but high definition mids (more so than DX220/200), while still sounding extremely good in the low/sub and high end.

not in huge marginal different...Yes, SP2K still better in Micro detail for Vocal and Spark. IMHO

I prefer SP2K then the previous SP1K, due to more dynamic sounding, IMO
SP2K have slight hiss, similar like DX220 AMP8EX-FE. While SP1K/SP1KM Black background with my pairing.

I found that the SP2 to be extremely good but that the DX220 and AMP8 to be more dynamic. Not a great deal but more slam. the SP2 was more polite, IMO.

is yours a custom or universal layla, maybe the layla aion is tuned differently

i have the lola, angie, and roxanne, one thing i noticed jhaudio iems are ok listening to at low volumes, but somehow they shine more at louder volumes, which is strange, but lola can be enjoyed at lower volumes.

so far I think I like lola the most, but Roxanne for rock music is amazing

They are LAYLA Custom and you're correct they do sound better at higher volumes.
