Also haven't tried the DX229 with Andro2020, but I have with Andro OG and Andro Gold. Agreed on the audible hiss. Paired with iFi iEMatch, it sounds good, but I found I preferred AMP8.

I have one dx220 with extra amp7, genuine amp8ex, amp9, mitas case and genuine extra battery in MINT condition for sale.
Bought a few weeks ago from fellow head-fier @behemothkat.
Love how it sounds, but I realized, DAP does not match my listening habits. 95% if my listening session I spend at the PC desk, so I am looking for portable dac/amp solution instead.
I am new owner of this beauty, bought from fellow head-fier in mint condition with amp7,8ex and 9.
Love the sound of this little machine, cant wait for my fiio FH7 to arrive with custom eartips to listen on AMP9!
However, I am a bit worried about the battery. My ussual listening is 90% as a DAC, streaming from tidal on PC and rest as a DAP. How can I protect a battery when I use it so much connected as a dac to PC? Is there any way how to power the machine from the usb and isolate battery?
I ordered split cable where I can power the dap from the in-wall charger while connected to the pc. My idea was to use it as a dac like that since usb on the pc does not have enough current...
@lubik96 Hi, did you get the split cable and does it work as you expected ? I've been hoping for a solution to not being able to power the 220 when using as a DAC. Thanks much !

No, I did sell the dx220.
But it should work, I've tried it with different dap/dacamp combo and it worked. A device does not need to support it, basically any Usb powered device should be able to use this splitter and be powered from different source than data part.

Cool thanks. And yeah I've used similar before but somehow had in mind that iBasso disabled charging due to noise or lack of bandwidth when in DAP mode. I'll order and give it a try.

Oh I see, I didn't think about that.
In fact, I sent an email to Paul, about my intention to use it as a DAC connected to the PC all the time while charging. I did not mention the splitter, but he told me I can do that, it will wear battery a bit faster but otherwise it should be possible.
That is the standard AMP module that comes with the DX300. Not compatible with the DX220 and will have a different sound signature given the completely different platform...
I know not the same league of the two players....but I'm thinking of buying a DX220.
Does a DX160 owner make sense to spend on a DX220? There is obviously a difference in performance, but the sound quality?
I have read in many places that the battery time is not correct and bumpy the software.(?)
