Details are yet to be determined, but it is planned to be a great specification improvement model of DX 200. As for the price I am willing to keep trying hard not to change much more than the price feeling of DX 200.
There is no schedule of correspondence to SIM card and installation of mobile phone function.
I'm sorry I can not say that yet. The release schedule of DX 220 is This April, and we are planning to release specifications little by little from now.
Yes. The DX 220 will have a same amplifier module standard with DX 200 and DX 150.

Is anybody expecting the use of the new ES9281 DAC with MQA hardware support in this?

Not sure if the timeline will match up but it sounds like something that some might consider a worthwhile upgrade.

Hadn’t heard about this one... I’d bet on 9038 Pro though, this one is just out so time for developing a product based on it seems unlikely...

I wondered if he meant the ES9218P which I don't think would be an upgrade to the ES9028PRO of the DX200. I like your idea of the ES9038PRO...

Cheers,

I do not mean the ES9218P.

I'm referring to the new DACs mentioned in the following news release on ESS technologies website.

http://www.esstech.com/index.php/en/news/newsroom/ess-introduces-suite-usb-codecs-featuring-audiophile-sabre-dacs/

Alternatively there is also a new 9068Pro in the pipeline.

Unfortunately the details are a bit sparse on either

Interesting. Looks like that is intended for USB audio products but could very well be for any DAP. Does have some excellent looking features though - we shall see how the details unfold on the DX220...

Cheers,

If they buy enough stock they I might have gotten access to development samples.

Doesn't the 9038 take a lot more energy than the 9028?

The 9038Pro uses same 500mW as the 9028Pro so it's possible.

AFAIK, those ESS chips are SoC designs and I doubt iBasso will use them in a flagship DAP. Plus I'm not aware of iBasso doing anything with MQA yet.

I would raise you AKM4499EQ  kakaka

I was thinking the same. A single AK4499 has 4-channels (enough for balanced out) and would use a third less power (667mW) compared to dual ESS chips. However, the 4499 isn't available until April / May so unlikely to be in the DX220.

We’ll see... bet is still logically 9038 Pro

+1

In the end, won't matter to me what chip they go with. Unless iBasso shocks the world with a Multibit or R2R design, it'll still be Delta-Sigma based.

I was ready to buy either a DX150 or DX200 as soon as the rumored AMP9 is released. Now I'll just get the DX220. Even if it's more expensive than the DX200, total cost with AMP9 should be well under half the cost of the Cayin N8 (currently, the only DAP with a built-in NuTube).
