M11Pro, well at last, the Fiio that didn't Hiss too much... hope M15 also.... SQ wise, I agreed with Filip, still not comparable with DX221Mk2.
and make AMP8EX-FE really in different realm, No joke...

I do think Fiio are moving away from their core business model which is good value, lower priced HiFi and I do think they will find it difficult competing in the > $1000 price bracket. Its very difficult to try before I buy with these high end Chinese DAP's in the UK and I would have to listen first before buying an M15 over the other brands you mention.

2020 will be a make or break year for Fiio with this new venture I would imagine.

With BGGAR on their side though I bet they will sell a few.

Honestly, for the built and the pricing, this is amazingly priced. But what about software and OS ? Take the view of smartphones for example. Good hardwares don’t meant that it can snap good pictures

Opinions on Dx228Ex FE vs Dx158Ex FE ?
I like the amp9 on my Dx220, and also what I hear on amp8ex FE (after only a few hours of burn-in) + Dx150 ...
So I wonder if there is a big difference using amp8ex with Dx150 or with Dx220 ?
(You could tell me : "try yourself !" , but I don't want to dismount the amp8ex during the 100 hours of burn-in...)

Positive side, it helps some ppl like me how have certain issued with the IEM ear fitting.
Usually, u will felt better bass response too due better seal in the ear.

Negative, in some IEM, it changes the sound sig due too longer canal. if you like bass, u prob on the safe side...
Some will make the IEM looks stuck out... not usual iem fitting...

I have my eye on the Solaris SE, but not sure if I want to justify the price tag. I listen to all the music stylistically, but spend the most time with rock and metal. I’m also considering some others, including Westone 4 or Shure SE846. Difficult decisions are difficult. I am delightfully stuck.

You can indeed, particularly as the T800 are a fraction of the cost of others mentioned.

They weren’t on my radar. Will definitely give them a look!

Canceled until further possible improvements are found . That is how I read it. Basically they are saying that there is no possible way to improve the M15...while there are

for example

1/ Copper Goldplated chassis

2/ bigger chassis to fit in better components

3/ Electrolytic capacitors at important places, like analog filtering, power supply filters

4/ individual battery packs, take that idea from Sony

5/ External Power Supply socket, and external power supply mode

6/ removable Op amps for Op-amps rolling purposes

7/ or even discrete amplifier architecture

8/ or even adding in Tube mode like N8, but instead of Amplifier, do it at DAC buffer stages

OMG, the list is endless

No doubt they are scared people will keep away from the M15 knowing M15 pro is coming. Actually, its simple - they could just update the screen and the CPU and hey presto, M15 pro.
