The way I see it is that, modifying on the existed units is possible but would need the works from 3rd vendors. As they would have to pull the stock parts and upgrades to the modified one. I have had many people asking about this, and the only solid person I would refer to is

the group-buy from what I am seeing is that it may be possible from Ibasso as they have everything to do it easily. But it would need to be very specific conditions to make it happen....such as the number of purchasers...etc...etc...this way. So the group-buy is more like “A Fan-Edition” that is limited run. Ofcourse, we are subjected to the mercy of Ibasso as a company, to whether or not Ibasso would agree to produce a small batch under Fan-tuning special edition, specifically the EX-modification tuning.
Let’s say if Ibasso agree to produce a small batches of EX as Limited-Fan tuning Amp8. We would have a huge saving
1/ the purchase power from Ibasso
2/ the direct manufacturing from Ibasso
3/ the warranty for a small period ? I wouldn’t expect it to be a full stock warranty ? But Ofcourse we also have the quality control from Ibasso as well
4/ the shipping power from Ibasso
Also as the Fan-edition, the Amp8-EX is originated from a hardcore Fan, and it is me. So, hopefully, when enough people have found that they are interested into the same personal preferences, impressions, and tastes of music like me....or in a short of...trusting my own tuning. Then do sign up.
I do believe that when enough people is signed up, and a for sure of a definitive purchase. Then we could see some positive outcome. Also, if it does happen, it may be that we either hit a lottery, a once in a life time....or Ibasso love us A LOT!
