What is the best 3rd party music player apps for DX200?

Just getting to know this player, but oh man is it amazin.. Just incredibly great sound out of balanced on Amp 1 with my Orioles Mk2 (Black Dragon cable). Mango mode is definitely the way to go. Big difference between it and the Mango app on Android. In terms of comparisons, from memory this DAP trounces the WM1A. Sound stage is just as wide, but the depth in to it and layering is better. The midrange is also a lot better. I’m hearing this note weight in the mids that just never grabbed me on the WM1A like this. And the player is really neutral with Amp 1, no hotness in the treble like WM1A that annoyed the hell out of me. Such finesse and deep thunderous bass, bass I didn’t even know was there is present on this player in stupendous amounts lol. The DX150 needs Amp 8 to sound remotely close to this player, and the DX150 sounds fantastic with Amp 8. Man.. now I know what I’ve been missing.

Yes, I know. I’d tried Amp 8 on the DX200 and it’s also really great. Pretty happy with Amp 1 now on it and I feel like there’s some magic with Amp 8 on the DX150. I may have to get an Amp 8 for both though. We’ll see how long I hold out lol

Hi there!

Just got my DX200+amp1 with burn in time around 100 hrs then start using amp3 for another 30hrs. Seems like not powerful enough to drive ie800s (vol up to 75 still can't give a satisfied sound stage)
Need more burn in time or ie800s just not fit with dx200? Anyone paired ie800s with dx200+amp3 can share your view? I m listening to orchestral music, any recommendations for IEM to pair with dx200? Tks

Have you tried high gain?
I use the IE800S with amp8 on high gain.
Classical recordings don't have that (horrible compressed) loudness as many modern pop recordings, so volume has to be cranked up quite a bit.
With amp 8 there is enough power for softer recordings
I also have amp 3, but never used it again since I went to amp8.
I will check the volume on amp3 this weekend

Just to share that received my DX200 from Japan, moded (Kai) and after burning in 200 hours this thing plays amazingly. My sp1000 has serious competition at least.
Must thank some head-fi fellows (Whitigir) for their testimony and incentives in order to try this approach and variation from the usual jump for the next on the line, which really pays off.
Must say mr Rihuzo, apparently, did some kind of a personalized mod considering my music tastes and it appears quite surprisingly accurate.

First of all I must rectify that the mod author is called Ryuzoh and not Rihuzo. Sorry, my mistake.
After reading some posts from you guys and Whitiger’s opinion I looked online and found an article about an AK70 kai mod as being something to be experienced.
There is the email adress of mr Ryuzoh which I tried and was fortunate enough to have his response and everything went well.
So Gayron, please look online for the ak70 kai mod and you’ll get not only the email adress but also the full review of the mod.
After, in my case, he explained his interventions and all about the matter, being that there are some variations to consider which reflects on the costs and, obviously, the results.
