Well I have posted some in my initial impressions, there has been quite a few others as well. I know it’s hard to keep up as the thread has gone through a lot of post from AMP8 new owners :)

AMP4 has been my long time favorite since it’s been out (never got the 4S) but now I have what I think is a well burnt in AMP8 and I don’t think AMP4 is going to get much listening time. Again, not because it’s not great but to me the greatest thing AMP8 brings compared to AMP4 is depth, layering and even better dynamics. This affects the whole presentation, as bass are more layered, better controlled and go deeper but treble are more refined as well and I would say it’s really about dynamics and authority. Also, very important, soundstage is much deeper but also significantly taller.

Keep in mind this is from the VE8 and Phantom, and both are low impendance multi BA setup which means they do benefit greatly from more current but full size headphone or dynamic drivers will benefit as well : AMP8 can both provide current and power so high impedance phones will sound great as well. Too bad I can’t test the LCD i4 I have sold recently I think it would have done wonders as well with it.

Sir you just made ibasso 200 usd -- instantly ordered!

I'm guessing this (compared to amp4) increase in bass and soundstage depth comes at decreased width? Again, compared to amp4 which has reaaally wide stage -- but depth and height could be improved.

A bassier more holographic amp4 that has the same clarity sounds very nice.

I think it's wider as well. Definitely an Amp 4++ in my books.

0_0, I am more excited about serial numbers than the player itself! LOL! I hope I get some nice number like a “Pair”: 11 / 22/ 33/ 44/ 55/ 66 for example, or a good combination of the highest count in gambling like 36 (3+6=9) or 63, 45 or 54, 27, 18....kakakaka....the idea is out there

Serial numbers would be fun. I want the amp1 to to be as good as the amp8. Too bad they did not replace the 2.5 with 4.4.

I dont really mind 2.5. But it is just that it wont be powerful enough for hd800s likely

I want 4.4, as I have converted my cables. I have 4.4 to 2.5, but would rather not use it.

Will be available/ship out next week (week of July 23). So right after we get back from CanJam London 2018 haha.
Personally it really ain't cheap, but I can always not open and resell it if I find the Cayin N8 great (the newer prototype will be at Canjam London), and battery life is very important to me.

@davidmolliere and other european friends:

I contacted Alex from Headphoniaks ( www.Headphoniaks.com Spain) to ask about the DX200Ti availability for order last night and got a reply this morning. And well, here it is:
https://headphoniaks.com/tienda/ibasso-dx200ti/
Page up 20min ago. Best of luck
DX200Ti 1800eur + 200eur for the AMP8

Thanks a lot for this!!!

After a lot of thinking last night - most of it being the funding of the beast - I decided to drop the ball on pursuing the Ti version.
I’ll probably regret it but I have to stay reasonable at some point... until I am not, again :p

This year was already VE8, Phantom and LCD i4 (that I sold in between, really couldn’t justify keeping it although it was great) plus a LionHeart...

FYI
If you want capacitor upgrades , power supply upgrades and sound, check out Fidelizer's DX200 upgrade package. It won't be Ti , but who knows...

Excellent! But still expensive. I can do all the upgrades myself, but it defeats the purposes. I want to hear what Ibasso can do when they do “limited edition” and at their best of Dx200 yet! Ibasso has proven to me to be an excellent DAP, and so it triggers my interests.

**Also, do note** those upgrades are still Tantalum capacitors, where as Titanium is having Juicy electrolytic !

However, upgrading the capacitors inside amp modules is another thing Pre-Amp8 :p

Today, I tested leaving my Dx200+amp8 in Mango mode without plugging in anything, it preserves battery very well.
