Sound like a short from Amp8. Send into Ibasso to check out. In the mean time, reset and try again. If it happens again, then it definitely is Amp8 causing it

Strange I also had my dx200 blown up due to amp8 starting to ask questions here

Did you also send Amp8 to Ibasso ? I was thinking that too ...lol. Earlier and back when Amp8 first released, I also saw someone with similar issue as @davidmolliere. Not sure how it played out

Of course I swapped AMP with the DX200 turned off btw

Put amp8 in and hold power button.
Also probably its a bug in software read a battery cant physicaly deplete that fast!

inspired by @ngd3 i made this:

peli case 1060. Perfect to transport dx200 to work by bicycle in my backpack :D

That looks really snuggly :)

Hmmm so tonight is a first for me but I have read it happens... battery charged at 100%, turned DX200 off, swapped AMP1Ti for AMP8... unable to turn it on. Plugged it, says battery low can power up... re-swapped for AMP1Ti, same thing :frowning2:

Do I need to do a full reset?

iBasso has a few warnings about how to remove each AMP module and how to turn it on after inserting the module, maybe it wasn't fully turned off when you took out AMP1 or when you inserted AMP8, I think this may be normal to happen in this situation .

Try to:

Turn it off (Try to make sure it is turned off)

Remove all modules

Insert AMP8

Put it on charging

Start and use

This should clear things out. Otherwise, I would also recommend a reset before sending it in, annd maybe also contacting Paul.

Received my SP1000 today and had a brief listening session A/B'ing with my DX200 Ti, long story short I fell in love with the vocals and treble on the SP1000 so I went ahead and sold the DX200Ti. Both of them are absolute TOTL quality to me and to be able to own either is as good as it gets. DX200 is definitely a far more versatile player but at the end of the day I just slightly preferred the SP1000 signature and I welcome the battery life upgrade.

Yes balanced mode. I use the EE Legend X but I've never had hissing issues with those IEMs on any DAP.

I just asked cause me i did :frowning2: on dx200.
You say its clean on bothe ti and sp1000 great to know.

Was that sp1000 ultima? Or the new M

Did you use high gain to?

You know i think you maybe prefer the akm dacs you know that velvet sound hehe.
Akm are smoother and warmer over ess sabre.

Yeah the Ti for me had zero hiss at all, I think even back on the original DX200 I never had hiss issues. It's the SP1000 SS, the M isn't out yet. Yep the smoothness was what caught me.

There are no hiss on the SP1000, I have the Phantom, the Legend X and the Kaiser Encore and never experienced an hiss, even on high gain.
As @aaf evo wrote, the SP has smooth signature (especially the treble) that accentuates the mids. The DX200 (didn't try the TI) has a neutral signature and depending of the earphone can sounds something too bright, what I like about the dx is the capability to drive full size cans.

Thanks for the detailed A/B impressions. The Amp1Ti is totally into neutral sounding, revealing, airy, speed. It absolutely has no Lush-Y mid or vocal. Lushy mid or Vocal sweetness has to be Amp4S or Amp4. Not even Amp8 can compare to the Lushy mid and vocal to 4/S. There is a way if you are into DIY. Anyways, no doubt that the Sp1000 has a reason to stay on the top tier segments, just like wm1Z. For something 1/2 the price 0r 1/4 the price like Dx200 to be competing, that is a huge complement to Dx200, technically and subjectively. I love Dx200 on how versatile it is, and the power to drive full-size
