Why would you wish it to cost so much.

On looks, it wouldn't be hard to beat the Cowan Plenue S, IMO. It is like a flat box with no real style or visual appeal, again, IMO.

I never said I wanted the DX200 to cost as much as the Plenue S - just that it is probably the most obvious target for the DX200 to shoot for, performance-wise, as the Plenue S is the most recent TOTL kid on the DAP block  (I don't have much doubt that the DX200 will probably exceed the SQ of the X7)

I don't expect miracles, and I realise that some compromise is always necessary to meet a lower price-point, but, at the same time, the Koreans are asking big fat margins for themselves and their dealers, and, thankfully, that's a $h1tty game iBasso choose not to play.

I noticed this was posted by someone on the iBasso facebook page. Looks pretty tasty, for any DAP-maker wanting to one-up their competitors:

I'd love to see iBasso actually implementing this in the DX200, considering what an excellent job they did implementing the original ES9018, in the discontinued DX100

paul is it just possible to tell us a rough estimate of release time

I don't have anything right now. We have a lot of testing to do and want the release to go as smooth as possible so people can be happily enjoying the player interface and sound.
