I was just using this as data for that comment:

Glad to know that isn't accurate.
An iBasso AMP reviewer or commenter (will try to find link) asked if iBasso's could come with not the stock amp but a different AMP, eg the AMP8 for the differential in cost?

Got Lurker 2.909L0 installed on the DX200. My first time installing Lurker's firmware. Pretty smooth process (via Mac). Playing around in Mango mode right now, a slight improvement over the original iBasso's Mango mode. Scrolling is less skippy. There is still a slight delay in the UI when sliding L<->R for the different screens however that's still the same a the original firmware. So for now the main improvement has been the scrolling - leading to less accidental track plays.

Sonically, sounds great.

Guess that settles it. I see no reason to stick with 2.5mm now that AMP8 is also in 4.4mm. Wasn't sure if it was only going to be AMP4(s).

Glad I bought the PW Audio cable in 4.4mm too. Not having to use a long adapter is nice.

It seems to defeat the purpose of owning a modular DAP if the DAP amps are "limited release".
It limits the ability to actually utilize that functionality.

Anyway more completed incomplete notes on iBasso amps...

You may try some proxy servers, or VPN services... Just like I had to do for more than a month to access this particular forum, starting from April 17th.

Hmm... probably the IT guys at work has implemented new measures. Was trying to download from office earlier today.

Oh well, just did a download from home and all is well. Managed to complete the download and flashing / loading it on my DX200 now!
