Anyone manage to destroy the thin ER-6i cables yet? Just want to see how durable the cables are, as I wait for my pair to get to me.

how often have you changed the filters in those headphones during that time?

I was somewhat concerned about the build quality when I originally received my er6is, but after using them for a couple of months, I'm not at all worried about them breaking.

I had my ER6i for about a year and half

I changed the filters when the sound quality and loudness levels decreased. Sometimes that was once a month sometimes they lasted 3 months, it depends on the amount of use the canalphnes get and your earwax.

I have just order the superfi's as the right channel of my old ER6i kept cutting out and now has pretty much died. No sound coming out of the earbud at all. It could have been due to the wire cord and the driver solder being separated but I dont really know, I cant see inside.

I have changed the filters and I have tried to push the wires around to see if ti will connect and work again but to no avail.

So IMHO the cables are fine but the connection between the driver housing and the cable might be the weaker spot however I have put mine through hell and back and they lasted 1 1/2 years if you are more careful I am sure that they will fine.

Great sound quality phones BTW and you might like to get some Shure soft flex tips for added comfort
