Hi! I'm a new user (as you can see above) and this is my first post
biggrin.gif

I'm thinking to get some good IEM's as an upgrade from my Sony XBA-C10IP's, and I came across the Titan and the SE215. Which one do you all think is superior (because right now, I'm torn in between the two). The SE215's are cheaper, but I hear the TITANS have stellar sound quality as well.

If anyone has a better suggestion in the $100-$150 dollar range, please say as well. Thanks!

Whats your sound preference? Based on your previous earbud, 'XBA' is it safe to assume that you like bass?

Thanks for the reply. Clearly you can see I'm new at this haha...
I like bass, just not overwhelming bass. Most of the music I listen to (EDM and Rap) have bass, so above average is probably required

But, personally, I like a balanced sound with a lot of clarity. If it can deliver that, I'd be fine with average bass performance

Shure will definitely work well for those music genres. It is overall a smooth sounding IEM with enhanced bass. But it is definitely not balanced. It's very comfortable and isolates well.

I haven't tried the Titan 1, but based on what I have read, Titan 1 is going to be more balanced and has better overall clarity than the SE215. Titan 1 wont offer much isolation though.

Check the individual threads of these IEMs to know more. Be sure to look into these IEMs too:

RHA MA750
VSonic GR07 Bass Edition

I have owned the SE215 and have tried my friend's RHA MA750. MA750 is better than the SE215 in terms of sound quality. For me, Shure is more comfortable and offers better isolation and has replaceable cables. While MA750 is built really well.

Sidenote, Fiio EX1's are re-branded Dunu Titans with a price cut, Might make them more affordable. I will say that the SE215's may not have a punch of Bass if thats what your looking for. It's more about providing the Bass to create a dynamic sound. That aside, The 215's are fantastic headphones. In fact, the pricier 425's are my daily driver ATM.

Yeah I did wonder about the EX1 and the Titan 1. Are they suing the same drivers too?

Regarding SE215's bass, when you said "SE215's may not have a punch of Bass if thats what your looking for", are you experiencing a lack of bass or are you describing the quality of the bass? I currently own a Sennheiser IE80 which has a lot of bass, but my SE215((not with me anymore) had a much deeper and punchier bass. But if you are talking in terms of bass quality, yes the bass on the SE215 is not tight and lacks detail. But definitely has the punch in my experience and opinion.

EX1's are Dunu rebrands, they are the same thing, its a partnership between Dunu and Fiio according to them. With regards the the SE215. I feel the that the 215's didn't provide a big punch when I was listening to them. But that may be because I was coming off of the RHA 750i's.

I see.

When I compared, I felt the SE215s bass was slightly warm and loose, where as MA750's bass was tight. I preferred the MA750's bass and overall SQ.

^^^-This, I agree. That being said, perhaps you should take a gander at the 750's as well :). Very enjoyable and well built.
Thanks again for the replies :D. At the current moment the MA750's are in the lead for me, but the only thing about them that is making me hesitate is the comfort of the headphones. Are they comfortable enough to wear for relatively long amounts of time? I haven't personally owned a pair of headphones that wrap around my ears, so there's that. And do the silicone tips that it comes with good, or do I have to buy another set? (For reference, I have pretty small ears/ ear holes [thats the technical term, lol])

I think they are rather comfortable. I find wrap around ears more comfortable than ones with straight dangling wires. But thats me. Tips are pretty good as well.

the ex1 are a superior set of buds over the 215, they are a all rounded and the bass for RnB/hiphop is well balance. I was running a meizu m2 + fiio E18 + 215SE the sound was pretty good, now having gone to EX1's, I will no be reverting back.

thats my 2 cent rant and only from personal opinon not gospel.

The Titans/EX1 are V shaped.  I recall the bass being punchy and they had an excellent sound stage.  I really enjoyed the sound of them, but sent them back because I learned I just didn't like things inside my ears.  Wasn't due to comfort, I just don't like things in my ears.

Throw in my vote for the MA750. I've used them along the Titan1, and I liked the overall sound signature of them more than the Titans. The bass (especially sub-bass) is much tighter on the 750s, and they are much more comfortable as well. I listen to mostly electronic, rap, rock and metal.
