I'm not long back from the local skip (dump?) and when I arrived at the skip I saw this 4 foot high black and white bear sitting on top of it so I piled him into the car along with a good quality rowing machine (amazing what you can find on a skip) and on the way back along the road I thought it would be a laugh to sit the bear on a fence at the side of the road (remember this thing is 4 foot tall and fat)

Well, I did the dirty deed and sat him on a wall next to a potato field (after filling my bag with potatoes

) and took a few pictures of him with the digicam.

I drove along the road a bit waiting for cars to pass and eventually two did, they both stopped to have a close look at this bear on the fence and when they passed me they had big smiles on their faces.

Anyway don't quite know why I'm feeling amused but I am and I thought I'd share

This guy on the other side of the road came over for a look as if to say "what the hell are you doing?"

Wow. Surreal.

You know how I suggest jigsaw puzzles? Forget that. You should burn off your excess energy by taking pictures of oversized plush animals in various situations and places. Your book: Life. Art. Plush. will make you rich, and your exhibitions in New York, London, Los Angeles, and Tokyo will make you even richer. Then you can afford to buy all the headphones you want.

Even some for ol' Pat, who gave you the idea.

I used to take my sock monkey on my travels and take pictures of him at tourist spots.

I would get funny looks from the Xray screener when I sent my laptop bag through. I guess the sock monkey appeared to be staring at them.

Great fun.

I'm glad you're making people smile.

Great news! I've just come back to see if the panda was still there but it wasn't which means It's gone to a good home!

I rescue it from the local dump, place it on a wall by the side of the road and someone takes it home...... so I saved a toy panda from being buried in a landfill site..... my good deed for the day.

Now you see it

Now you don't!

Its head was about 2 feet wide Borat it would have been a bit of a stretch for the headphones to span it.

Good deed, Pink Floyd! However, the poor bear's left ear looked pretty worse for wear.

This senseless Stuffed Panda violence HAS to stop!!!

EDIT: PS, did you interrogate the cow regarding the missing Panda?

That was a really cool idea.
You find him at the skip, huh?
I used to find neat stuff at the dump. Now the dump has been replaced with a waste management company that won't let you take anything home, unless you want to buy it.

I like your thought on why the bear disappeared. I wouldn't have had such a positive reaction. This shows how good of a person you are.

Have you had a chance to test the rowing machine?

We don't even have a dump anymore; we have a "transfer station." There are large trailers that you drop your trash into. On 90+ degree days, the stench is sublimely vile. However, they'll let you toss almost anything - a plus. Furthermore, they are not inclined to ask questions - a bigger plus. I remember having to drop several boxes of books, papers, and other assorted items. They waved and let me go about my business.

Just the sort of slightly seedy service I demand.
