I'm so awesome (can't believe I only thought about this now);
i'm using my px100 with one ear plugged to comp and er4 with my portable listening to the same song, (i'd use my full size but I think the er4 woudlnt isolate enough) simultaneously and it sounds awesome, instrument seperation is a lot better and you can hear the timbre. Also soundstage opened up dramatically I think it is because of a similar effect to using "cross feed".

Anyone else have any tips to enhance the experience?

So you mean, one of your ears is listening to the ER4 while the other to PX100? I just wonder because with ER4's isolation you'd hardly hear anything else from the outside (unless you drive the PX100 to the point of slight distortion). Well, you might hear some deep bass even with ER4 inside but it would be quite muffled (you'd hear no higher order harmonics of bass instruments). If you put the PX100's left channel on ER4's right channel (& vice versa) you might indeed fell an effect similar to crossfeed.
