Since I've gotten my DT990s, I've noticed that they don't go well with my iMod and Corda move. The bottom end and the treble is overbearing the midrange by a good amount, so much so that only Daft Punk and some Linkin Park have been the things I enjoyed on them using the iMod so far, and Meier amps are designed for Beyerdynamics I believe.
On the other hand, when I plug them into my laptop through the echo indigo, the synergy is just great. The bass isn't as overpowering and the treble is still great with the midrange coming in clearly! It is wonderful listening with these on the laptop, just what I needed to let me know that my indigo is pulling its weight. Anyone else have any stories like this?
I think I am going to give the HD650s a try next with my iMod. This thing puts out some crazy tight bass and extreme highs on my speakers and triple.fi using the vCap dock. It is overwhelming using the DT990, but these are obviously great cans from what I am currently hearing.
