I was listening to music a few minutes ago & the right ear on my dt 990's started crackling & then completely lost sound. I bought these headphones last October & they were working perfectly up until now. I can get the sound back if i tilt my head or play with the cord a bit. When i move my head with no music playing i hear a little static/crackling sound in the right ear. What usually causes this & is it fixable? what should i do?

Generally when one side just goes out it is usually a driver or a cable. Given the particulars of your situation, I would suspect it is the latter, If that is the issue, it will need to be re-cabled on the affected side. Is it still under warranty?

Yes. i bought them brand new 11 months ago.

Definitely sounds like a cable problem to me also. Under warranty good deal send them back to be fixed.

if i dont have the receipt for the headphones, can i still get a replacement pair? i bought them as a guest on ebay. they sent me a confirmation email but i must have deleted it by accident.

my curiosity got the best of me last night, and i opened the headphones
The blue wire inside the left earcup looks like it is barely hanging on to the little silver bit its connected to

Should be an easy fix even if the warranty is not honored.

Go to youtube on basic soldering techniques and see if you think you can do it.

Soldering is pretty easy but you can mess things up if you don’t pay attention.
