I am looking for some super comfortable headphones for long use and metal music.
 
My ears stick out a bit so I need deep earcups (23mm +) I am thinking about the DT990 Premiums 
However is was wondering is these have the same comfort and earcup dimensions as the DT770?
I did not liked the DT770 because the earcups were just a little to shallow for my ears.
 
Does anyone know the DT990 earcup depth in mm?

I can't quite remember how deep the DT770 were, but DT990 cups are not that deep, especially over time when the pads compress.  My ears always touched the felt covering the drivers, although the clamping pressure is low for the premiums-- so your ears don't ache, but sometimes it does get annoying.
 
It was actually one of the contributing factors for me to sell my DT990.
