Best soundstage I've heard in a closed headphone, haven't compared the HD280 tho so can't comment there

Much better soundstage than the HD280's, or any closed phone under $100. They don't sound like closed cans.

I think that the DT250 soundstage is quite good (compared to the flat nature of the MDR-V6)

How do the DT250s compare to the DT770s?

Thanks

I think the DT770 has a better headstage than the DT250 and a much better midrange in general. If you don't mind (or like) the DT770's bass push, it is really good for a closed headphone. I hope to get some comparisons of different closed headphones done in the next week or two.

I think the 770pro does have a very nice soundstage, but with the space comes a loss of impact and dynamics compared to a grado. The 770s give you some distance from the performers and more suave dynamics like the sennheiser hd580/600s do. I do think the 770s have GREAT BASS. With my audio alchemy or maxed out home they were never bloated or out of balance at normal listening levels. The 770s bass power and extension are truely excellent and to me this is their most endearing trait.

So the DT770s have deep, large bass ~ yet at the same time are airy... hmm ~ very interesting
