I have had attempted multiple search, yet i am not able to make any conclusion.

Help: I am very confused between DT177x Go or DT1770 Pro, and i will be able to get them at same price of $450. Or should i spend more and just get the Dan Clark Ether CX for $750 on sale? Also, i want to use stock tuning and don't want to rely on any EQ software.

Background: I did the sound demo of DT177x and CX of Z Reviews Youtube Channel, and suppressing enough i was liking CX bit more. However, i was hearing on youtube sound, recorded by some microphone, which won't capture and reproduce the accurate representation of headphone sounds. I value, people impression more than listing sound demo.

Also, I have owned and loved the bass and mids characteristics of DT770 Pro (32ohm), however the treble was troublesome. And, I have said bass and mids characteristics because i did EQ'ed DT770, and didn't liked the stock tuning.

Please find below the EQ configuration:

1. critical listening: 31hz (-4db), 62hz (-2db), 125hz (-3db), 250hz (0db), 500hz (-1db), 1khz (0db), 2khz (-2db), 4khz (+2db), 8khz (-6db), 16khz (-4khz).
2. fun and enjoying listening sessions: 31hz (0db), 62hz (-1db), 125hz (0db), 250hz (0db), 500hz (-1db), 1khz (0db), 2khz (-2db), 4khz (+1db), 8khz (-7db), 16khz (-4db).

Also, I have attached the 'critical' EQ setting i used with DT770.

FYI: I have returned the DT770 and i currently have sundara. I like sundara, but don't have love for them. I tried EQ, still wasn't able to love them. No doubt, sundara was better in technical performance (resolution, speed, and detail retrieval), but still have some heart to heart connection with DT770 .

One quality i like about sundara is its open and airy sound. Hoeover, i don't know if closed back can provide such openness and i doubt if airiness will be a good thing on closed back. Also, if my memory survived well, soundstage of DT770 was bit wider than sundara and had better depth.

I have the DT1770 and DT177x. They're very similar, and if having a balanced headphone is at all a consideration to you, the 177x is the clear choice. They are also pretty driveable out of good, portable gear -- so if that's important at all, it's an easy choice. All that being said, I perhaps slightly prefer the sound signature of the 1770s. But unless I'm going back and forth with them, I wouldn't notice. I like the 177x a lot.

However, many popular reviewer (like Resolve, Chrono, Joshua, Metal 571) said that DT1770 bass is very intense and i don't want an intense bass.

Also, how do you compare the soundstage and depth of the two? And, do you think DT177x is less intense and smoother sounding then DT1770Pro?

Do you mean both are very similar in technical performance?
