Hi all,
I was hoping to get some advice on which pair of headphones to buy. I maibly listen to rock ( Hendrix AC/DC Zeppelin and the who mainly and some others also classical and film scores from Hans zimmer ect. I was wondering which pair would be best for my taste. Would like a bit of bass and good soundstage.
I will be using my motherboards onboard sound for the time being untill i can afford a decent amp. My max i would like to spend ia 150 and also mainly looking at open back. Would you choose the dt 990s, 880s or the x2s? Or even another pair.

Given all your particulars I think I would personally go for an X2. Pricing could be a problem, though...

I own both the DT990 and X2(actually X1,but essentially the same thing) and I do not like either for rock(only listen to classical via speakers when im reading)

I would suggest trying to get an HD6xx,which will require an amp. Another headphone to consider is a Grado,which are excellent for rock IMO.
