DT 990 pro vs premium

While searching for the dt 990 pro, i've seen 2 designs, i'm awar that there are premium, pro, black edition models, but i saw different designs on 2 pro models, one has "beyerdynamic" written on the sides, while the other one, the most common, has "DT 990 PRO" written. I just want to know what's up with that. Is there a difference? Hope someone could help. Thanks!

Straight from the manufacturers website guys - the pro and premium editions are identical, both share the exact same drivers and exact same tuning. The difference is the styling and clamp:

So basically the only differences are softer pads and the way the cable is either coiled or straight?

The premium comes in 600 ohm version as well, which sounds different, and better to me.

I bought the Pro 250 ohm earlier this week which came with the coiled cable and grey pads. Wanted the straight cable so replaced them with the DT990 Pro Black Limited Edition and I presume its the pads (as they are a different material to the Grey ones) but the sound signature is dramatically different. More bass, less piercing treble on the Black pads (significantly so) compared to the Grey ones......or am I just going mad??
