Hi I’ve been looking for answers pretty much everywhere about this but can’t seem to find them.

I have a Rode NT USB microphone that has a headphone jack in it which allows me to hear myself when I’m talking which is a must for me, the Windows option for that is terrible so I pretty much plug all my things in the microphone, however I know that dt 990 pro needs a amp for much better performance if I plug it in my mic will i lose surround sound and is there anyway I can plug it in my mic and also plug it in a amp (Visa Versa)
Really need to know, appreciate all the help I can get

Yes,but dont ask me what the correct setting is for PC use(I use it for PS4)
I have the MixAmp Pro 2013.Dunno if its still available though.

EDIT: Heres one

I hear everyone recommending the shiit magnis for the DT 990 pros however if I get that would I be able to do the same things as a Astro mixamp and also will I lose surround sound I just plug my dt 990 pros in the microphone?

Nah you dont hear everyone recommending that combo. I think that combo is awful, that is unless you enjoy fingernails dragging slowly along a chalkboard.
Personal bias aside, the Magni 3 is not a gaming amp, therefore it has no mic input.Any surround FX would need to come from your computer.

EDIT:

You might be able to still plug your mic into your comp, the 990s into an amp(any amp)and might be able to config your computer game settings to output your voice,IDK.Each game and system is different, and im certainly not a computer gaming expert.

Have you tried asking in the gaming thread?

Ok cool, I’m perfectly fine with getting a Astro mixamp if i can hear myself through the rode mic and also get surround sound. Just a quick question how would the setup go? Dt 990 pro into mixamp but how would I plug it in my mic? Sorry if I keep bothering you I’m completely clueless when it comes to this stuff

When I bought mine it did not come with the cable you see going into the HP jack,so I had to track one down. This one or any of these arent exactly the same as mine but should still work.
The only other connection made is between my PS4 and the Mixamp with optical cable.

Awesome, the only thing is my Rode NT USB mic has a USB cable so how would I plug that in the mixamp with that adapter? I could easily plug the headset in the mixamp just not the mic. Appreciate the extra work you put in to help me.

ahhh well USB is a different matter.

Maybe something like this cable might work.I have no actual experience with it though. You can try the cable and see if it works.Otherwise a different MIC might be needed, but I'd try the adaptive cable method first.

Hmm, i’ll look into it. I’m thinking of plugging the headset into my microphone which I currently have earphones in the picture then using that cable you provided me and plugging my microphone into the mixamp. Would that do the trick? Wish there could just be a easier way where I could plug headset in mic and still get surround sound with no amp.

An easier pair of headphones to drive might work running out from your MIC,but the DT990s need an amp.

DT 990 Pro into microphone then USB cable from microphone into mixamp with the adapter you linked me is what I was trying to say, I would take pictures but for some reason they’re not uploading. Also this is the only thread I’m allowed to post in so can’t ask gaming thread

Yeah they limit site privileges until certain criterias are met to keep spammers at a minimum.

Youre asking about things I really have not tried myself,so I dont want to tell you 100% for sure one way or the other it will/wont work.

@PurpleAngel and @ProtegeManiac know more about PC stuff than I.Perhaps they will be able to guide you further than I can.
