I have read on some threads that the DT-990 and DT-990 pro have the same SQ,and on other threads i have read that the non Pro version has a better SQ.
my question is,do they have the same SQ?

To the best of my knowledge they are exactly the same minus the cord used and the cosmetic appearance.

Somebody said it has recessed mids and did recommend the non pro version over the pro version.

If you consider the difference in cost between the PRO and the non-PRO version, you will find that the DT 990 PRO is very good value for money SQ-wise.

on the one hand the Pro headband is factory-adjusted to be a snugger fit than Consumer version, and the Pro has coiled cable whereas Consumer has straight cable.............on the other hand you're mixing apples and oranges since the Consumer version is 2005 version and Pro is 2003 version. I can tell you the orig. version (1988 IIRC) was always highly respected, the 2003 was the least-regarded, and the 2005 has been the best. I have not had the stock version - but a friend in Finland was the first one I heard from that was praising them ( and her husband had owned the original version). I have 2005 dt990/600, and now, so does she. So, if you want to make the worst choice go with those 2003 Pro, or if you want the best - go with the 2005 600ohm version.

While searching for the dt 990 pro, i've seen 2 designs, i'm awar that there are premium, pro, black edition models, but i saw different designs on 2 pro models, one has "beyerdynamic" written on the sides, while the other one, the most common, has "DT 990 PRO" written. I just want to know what's up with that. Is there a difference? Hope someone could help. Thanks!
