Agree completely about the DT770 consumer edition needing an amp.
Receiver, pre-amp, integrated amplifier and/or headphone amp will do.

Definitely a good deal. They had the DT 880's for $180 and I almost pulled the trigger but I hesitated and now they have gone up to $300. Now I'm thinkin about the 770's but I keep telling myself that I should hold out for the 880's. For anybody that has had both, is the difference really that great?

Both have bad bass, the dt770 just has a lot more of it. Awesome dorm cans for 113$. Amaze people with your hiphop prowess.

i was looking at these as a replacement for my sr-80s that kill the tops of my ears; now i can get them. what amps would work particularly well with these?
