I just finished building a 11 Gain cmoy, and i just orderd a pair of DT 770's (not the pro's) from Meier. I plan on building a META42 later, but for the time being all I have is the 9V Cmoy.

Do you think a simple CMOY is enough to drive the DT 770 nicely?

Yes. It'll definitely provide you with plenty to listen to until you get your META42 built.

I guess it all depends on your expectations.

For example, personally I consider the HeadRoom Little amp (with its +/- 15V DC power supply) to be substantially incompetent in terms of driving the DT770 (from a typical 2V line-level source).

But you'll be finding out for yourself soon enough.
