hi guys

A few days ago i bought sen momentum 2.0 over ear with dragonfly 1.2 usb dac

Im using 2015 macbook air, fidelia or audirvana software, all my files are flac from my own cd's using XLD.

MY problem is that the dragonfly is making the momentum sound worst than using the 3.5 port of the macbook - and this is strange.

On one side when you use the dragonfly the sound is clear, no noise at all, i can describe it as   very "round" and warm.

BUT the thing is,  it is too round and too warm-  the bass becomes emphasized and guitars sounds more like drums, it sound like
you just added a bit of echo, and also less detailed.

when i checked the reviews about the dragonfly everyone talked about more details, clear sound, better soundstage, where's all that?

do you have any idea what can cause such effect? maybe specific setting in the OSX ?

thx

BTW  i also have an HTC M8 PHONE ( which is known forr its good sound) and the momentum sounds better
with it than with the dragonfly.

I cannot agreed more
I had the df v1.2 for a while pairing it with my AT MSR7 and it sounded muddled and overly warm

I am also confused because reviews are telling me about its clarity.

Now that I have DT880 and A20 amp, using the df as a dac make the sound well still overly warm. The snare sounds thick and unnatural. The guitar is overwhelming.
I listen to mostly metal and rock though

Now Im selling it and looking for a new DAC. Has you sold your df? What u get for replacement?
