My docs suffered some near-fatal injuries in the process of moving all my stuff to a new apartment, which means I'm going to have to look for a new pair of headphones, preferably something a little bit better, under $300. The headphones I currently own are connected to my X-Fi sound card, I don't own an amp, though I'm planning to get one sometime in the future.
Apart from some sibilance issues, I really liked the docs, so something similarly sounding, though with a little bit more detail and better soundstage, would be the best. The stuff I usually listen to includes:
- dnb (bass heavy stuff), breakcore, idm, dubstep, acid, minimalistic
- rock, grunge, thrash, metal etc.
- classical
Also, I'm a gamer, but it's ok if they're open, since I'd use them in a relatively quiet environment.
