Downsizing

Hey all, first time posting here and hoping for some help. My recent retirement resulted in a downsizing where my listening will now be exclusively headphones. Not upset about that but still want to get the best sound possible. I currently have HD800s and Meze Empyreans. Very happy with both. Wanted to upgrade my source and amp. I listen only to cds as I have a massive collection so don't try to convince me to stream! Right now I have an older Rotel cd14 player direct to my Violectric V200 amp. Im thinking I can improve both. Two questions, if I go with an amp with an internal dac (hugo tt2) must i use a cd transport to access the amp dac or can i use a cd player? If a cd player works how would it be connected to the amp? Any suggestions for the cd player and amp would be appreciated. I was looking at the Moon 260 player/transport and hugo tt2. Ive heard both seperatly but not together. Budget for the two components would be no more than $10,000.

Really looking for some help here as i am not a tech head.
