Listen to alot of downbeat/chill-out in the summer but am getting tired of my limited collection of CD's.

What I have:

Thievery Corp.-The Mirror Conspiracy
Zero 7-Simple Things
Air-Talkie Walkie and Moon Safari
...and alot of "Buddha Bar" and "Ibiza-After Hours" albums.

I love the above but am looking for some new material (although not looking for any new Trip Hop).

Suggestions?

I honestly wouldn't know how to describe it. In my opinion, though, it's very chill because I sleep to it almost every other night. Of all descriptions, ambient comes to mind.

You might check out the new album by Pole, "Steingarten". It's dub and glitch with a downtempo feel - one of the better electronica albums I've heard this year.

Viro-ill buy anything you recommend

Well, I'm personally just starting with them myself, so all I can recommend is the only album I own: "Are You Shpongled?"

I have no experience with "chill" music, so me classifying this album as "chill" is my personal opinion. So if you don't like this (because it's certainly very different), don't hate me; however, I can assure you it sounds really good with headphones.

If you havent tried downbeat, I strongly recommend both Zero 7 and Thievery Corp. Most people find the genre very accessible since it mixes in a variety of styles of music (slow breaks, electronics, jazz and even classical)from a number of different, cultures/backgrounds (Middle Eastern, African, European, etc.).
Great music for the summertime!

I just listened to Zero 7 and Thievery Corp. Shpongle is in no way comparable to either, so if you get Shpongle, you'll ultimately be trying something new.

Listening to both reminded me of this album...
