Greetings everyone!

I am seeking opinions of all of you experts. I am looking for a decent earphone to use while on an airplane. I already own Ultimate Ears Superfi.5 and I really like them a great deal. However I am looking for something less expensive to take on my trip in the event that they would be lost, stolen, or confiscated going on the airplane, you never know these days. In addition, wearing them for extended periods of time, I find them just a little uncomfortable.

I have narrowed the selection down to the three below. Although, I am still open to suggestions, so if you have them, please make them.... I thought about the Shures e2 (I think is the model) but I am trying to keep my price range between 50 and 80 dollars. I have looked on the forum and saw some suggestions for airplane travel, but I would like some other thoughts on these specific head phones I have listed:

Ultimate Ears Metro.fi 2 Earphones Black with Silver Trim

SENNHEISER CX300B

Etymotic Research ER6i Isolator Earphones

Edit: I would still like opinions from you guys. I'll even consider something not listed in the three. Really, just would like a second set of headphones, something I can take on an airplane.

ER6i seems to be the winner among the three... I'll throw in MylarOne X3 into the consideration too.

Where do you get the MylarOne X3?

Does anyone else have any suggestions??

www.jaben.net

I suggest the X3s too. At least $20 less than the ER6i, and a nice canal phone. Get the ER6i for the Ety sound, much more emphasis on highs. I had them and liked them. But the Etys also have the filter issue, which means you have to spend money to maintain them. My ER6is seemed to need new filters more than I expected.

I use my ER6i's primarily as travel 'phones -- with short Comply foams, they fit and isolate very well. Without everyday use, you would be able to go a long time without dealing with the Ety filter issue (or the "worth it to me" extra expense of the Comply foams). I wouldn't get on a plane without these (or some other isolating IEM, and these do a very good job isolating). They will have a very different sound signature from the Superfi's, though ...

You might get more "everyday" use out of the Mylarones or a comparable canal phone, if that's a factor.

Yeah, Jaben is the only place for getting CrossRoads' 'phone. I am kind of an Ety guy so my vote go to ER6i, but by all mean X3 is a good choice.

How long does it take for the X3s to get here from Singapore?

And which 'bundle' should I get or should I just go for the X3's?

Thanks!

On those X3s, there is no shipping costs? How about customs? Any real trouble or issues getting them here to the States?

Don't forget to mention the Kramer mod. These things rock beyond belief now and I actually prefer them over my E4's now. Be sure to scroll to page 3 and check out the alt mod. Cant beat the sound for $50 new.

I'll suggest you to check them out ...

Mine took only a week to get to California. Let's just say Jaben knows what they are doing and there will be no further fees, duties or taxes for you.

They really do sound great for the price and - according to comparisons on this forum - only start to fall off slightly against $130+ phones.

The main reservations people have are looks - which I don't really understand for something you cram in your earhole - and build quality which is an unknown but a concern based on the first version of the MylarOnes. The build quality seems to be much improved over version one but they are too new to know how they will hold up in the long-term.

i have a pair and they are very good for the money. $57.
free shipping (looks like standard international mail). took exactly one week to arrive (i am in new jersey, usa).
on the package, they are described as "earbuds" for "gift" valued at $5.

i requested them to be delivered to my office(because i am rarely at home) but then i was notified that they were sent to my house by mistake. i sent an email, and they apologized multiple times, mailed out another pair to my office right away. they are some friendly people. i received the first pair(saturday, i was home), loving them so much! received the 2nd pair at work today (returning to jaben, of course).
