Hi, my Fiio X3 was working perfectly on Friday. I was listening to it on Friday night as it was charging, and went off to sleep with it on the table top beside my bed. And that was the last time it was working perfectly...

When I woke up on Saturday morning, I went to switch it on, and the screen was completely blank except for a very thin dark coloured line just off centre, and running from top to bottom of the screen. This line remained on it for the next couple of days, and now today even it seems to have disappeared. The screen is now totally blank. I have no idea what caused this to happen as I have always looked after it, and kept it in its case. It's never been abused, and what's happened is totally a mystery to me!?
I tried turning it off and on again, and still the same. It plays music fine, but it's now nearly impossible to navigate the folders on my Fiio X3.
Today despite forcing the battery to zero and fully charging it, the screen is still completely absent of anything - and you can see how it is now, as it is exactly as in the picture I show here.
I used a pin in the reset hole to reset it, and even resetting it didn't work. The screen is still totally blank. It's bought new less than two years ago, in May 2015, when they were becoming hard to find new, due to the release of the second generation X3. But i would far prefer my 1st gen to be fixed.

Please advise on what I can do now? Can it be repaired in London anywhere or do I need to ship it somewhere else?

Thank you.

Dear Disquisitive,

It may be a hardware issue with the LCD display. But you can still try to update the firmware to see whether it helps: FW3.4:https://www.dropbox.com/s/9a39nmk9g7mb5b7/X3%20FW3.4.zip?dl=0
If the issue stays, you may need to send it back to us in China for repair. But if you could replace the LCD yourself, we can send the LCD to you as well. The soldering iron is needed.

Best regards

I just wanted to express my sincere satisfaction with your E18 USB DAC/Amp unit that I recently purchased. I have always enjoyed and appreciated high quality reproduction of the music I love. Unfortunately, for many years, I did not have the opportunity to experience music that came close to being true to the artist's conception due to financial concerns. However, as with everything in life, situations change and with this change, I started investigating the possibilities currently available to "upgrade" my listening experience. After reading multiple reviews about FiiO products and comparing prices I decided my best first choice would be the E18. The first song I listened to processed through the E18 at 24bit/96kHz was simply pure pleasure. I had forgotten the joy and satisfaction of listening to music that was full, clear and accurate. I cannot say how much I enjoy the unit except to state that I will be purchasing more of your products. Thank you!!
Shawn

Sorry, my original message was posted using my phone and so I did not elaborate clearly my question.

My question is:
Whenever a different song starts, I would like the screen to turn on and show the album art for that respective song. Is that possible?

Hi,

Where can I get a battery replacement for the x5 second gen and instructions on how to replace it?

Thanks,

Jon

Dear campj,
We can provide the battery of X5II to you if you prefer. But because of the strict customs recently, it is hard for the shipping company to send pure battery abroad.
If you would still prefer the battery some time later, we will inform you when it is available.
Sorry if bringing inconvenience to you.
Best regards

X7 Updating Issues

I'm unable to install any of the last three beta updates.
The only update that worked was when I used the tool.
Am stuck on Kernel version: 3.0.101+, Fiio@asc#471, Sat Dec31
Build #3.1.1.161230_beta_b103

Here is what I do:
1) follow link for update ( using Safari)
2) download package
3) compress package (zip)
3) X7 usb to MBP
4) drag zip package to internal storage ( which is empty and reset, cache cleaned))
5) eject usb
6)>Support>Firmware update>Local Upgrade>internal_sd>( scroll to bottom): X7-ota-3-3.zip> Select the package to upgrade?> OK
7) NOTHING HAPPENS....EVER

Please advise what I am doing wrong or some way to force the upgrade

My Q1 starts to develop a develop in which it makes a crackling sound when i turn the volume knob. If I purposefully turn it up and down a few times It went away for a while, but will come back afterwards.
Is it a known issue?

I've had a problem with Fiio x3 2nd gen since I bought it. I copy all my music onto the sdcard. I use foobar2000 to make playlists and copy those too. However It always randomly says this sing cannot be played, song not found. The song is on the sdcard, 80% of the songs all work fine but 20% cannot be found.  Why is this? It always seems to be with my favourite songs too, its so frustrating.

I have to leave the playlist and manually scroll to the album and play my favourite songs individually very quickly whilst sitting at traffic lights. Can someone please shed some light on this problem?

Dear seanyc4,

How many characters are there in the path of those songs which cannot be found?

Best regards

Dear seanyc4,

The characters of the path are more than 128, so the X3II may not be able to find the song. You may try to shorten the words in the path to see whether it helps.

Best regards

sorry, I copy my post from the 'FiiO X1 II (2nd Gen) w/ Bluetooth!' thread, as
I don't cet any answers....

::

Hi! Got may x1genii yesterday.
As I wait for my Bose QC35, they shoud come tomorrow, I can 'only' test the BT function
with 2 devices, a subpack and my ik iLoud Micro Monitors.
Both work great with my old samsung android phone.
But my Fiio gives my a constant high frequency noise, ok, not too loud when playing, but audible,
really annoying, when paused or not playing. No noise when wired.
I don't have this problem with my mobile, what gives a similar noise
when connecting, but then it 'switches 'off' to noisless. My Fiio is not.
Should I send it back...?
btw...
I switched off wlan and everything...as I work in a small studio,
everything is seperated and quite noisless...
I'm not a BT user, so did I expect too much...why is it ok via my mobile...?

::

..should I return/exchange my unit?

Dear tomelevation,

What's the firmware version of your X1II? Is it in the latest FW1.5.6 already? You may try to do a factory restore to see whether it helps?

Best regards
