Hi! I'm really new into audio world
I recently bought a Sennheiser HD 650 (I love it) and FiiO E10k as dac/amp combo (I'm on budget). But, I was thinking of trying a tube amp (after getting my next salary).

I was thinking of getting Bravo Ocean (https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/bravo-audio-ocean.13734/reviews) . I read a few reviews saying that tube sounds warmer than solid state.

So my question is, since Sennheiser Hd 650 are known for its warm sound, does the tube amp will make it more warmer?
I will be using FiiO E10k as DAC.

Thanks!

Unfortunately , little dot is over my budget and isn't available at local. I can only get hands on Bravo Ocean

Maybe just try a different tube. I suggested the MkII since I know that it's as much of a warmifying boombasticator as it is an amplifier. Sold mine because it basically made every singer sound like they had sinusitis through my HD600. Hard to get any warmer than that.

Oh, I actually doesn't like warming sound. That's why I ask if tube will make my HD 650 even warmer than before?

Maybe different tube would do like you said

If you don't want to warm it at all then you can just get a good solid state amp that doesn't get as bright as some other amps when cranked up. Save a bit more and get the Meier Corda Rock.

I think all the Bravo amps are hybrids meaning they are solid state output and tube input for the most part as some can differ but usually how it goes. Most hybrids I’ve heard are not real warm so I don’t think you would have a problem there either. Not all tube amps are warm either. I find the Chord Mojo warmer than the Bottlehead Crack but that does depend on tubes your using.

Oh! The stock tube will be shuguang 12AU7.
Do you have any experience with that kind of tube?

You can buy the Bravo Ocean on Amazon for $90 but good luck if you need repairs the company does not even have a website. I would recommend spending $150 for a Schiit Vali 2 if you want to get into tube amps at low cost.

Bravo Ocean currently has authorized seller available locally. I will ask
I have a few it is the same input tube as the Bottlehead Crack. There are very many to choose from.
Can you describe a how's the sound they produce? I mostly listen to modern music.

I went ahead and purchase it. Sounds pretty good but not at Wow level but better than my E10k and sounds more alive! Seems powered my HD 650 and HE 4XX pretty well.

Btw, can I use E10K preamp and connect to another amp? I want to use the Bass boost on E10k though
Is it a good idea or nay?
