Does this combo work?

I think the SR71 is overkill for the V6s, no matter the source (never heard the Indigo). Had two pairs and a Meta helped a bit (over straight from Audiophile USB), but the change wasn't dramatic. Doubt you'd feel your money was well spent.

I'd either go for something cheaper in the amp department or upgrade the headphones.

Echo Indigo already has a headphone amp inside.

As Blessingx said, rather upgrade your headphones first.

yeah, but i recommend you focus on headphones, then source first. you'd be a lot more happy...trust me.

have you heard anything above the sonys?

i am just asking because you might want to give others a try. i heard the v6s and thought the grados sr60 were so much better.

BTW, are you compressing your files? If so what rate?

I had Shures before, I don't like cannalphones. I just figured that if I got the SR-71 it would open up more options headphone wise. I have heard other things then Sonys, they just happen to be what I have around now.
