Does the Sony XBA Z5 work on balanced mode with Fiio X5 gen III?

I have a Fiio X5 gen 3 dap and I am wondering if I can use my XBA Z5 with it in balanced mode. I have the balanced cable that comes with the Z5. However it has a left and right 3.5mm plug where as the Fiio X5 has a single 2.5mm balanced output. Can I buy a 2.5 to 3.5 y splitter to make it work?

If you can find a adapter you should be fine just make sure it is a TRRS 2.5mm.
