Does the quality of headphones change if i plug it into the external speakers?

Like i have a good pair of headphones and i just plug it into the speakers my computer are connected through does that affect the sound quality of the headphones?

Sort-of. What headphones? If they are just a basic set, say, you pick up from any major electronic store for about 20 bucks you probably won't know the difference. I wouldn't worry about it.

Most multimedia speakers that have headphone outputs have pretty low qauality amps in them. You will most definately get better sound from the soundcard than the speakers amps in most cases.

my personal experiences were less than stellar through the headphone outs on a pair of harmon kardon 2.0's ... indeed, all hp outs are not created equal

My Logitech 5.1 has a decent headphone output, but I'm not expecting much. I mean, I have my sound card and amp...
