Hi guys,

Since there are people talking about sound enhancement via a USB cable, I wonder if the smartphone as a source for a USB DAC is important for the sound quality.
Perhaps there are some of you who have experience in this area and can share it.

There is no sound enhancement possible from digital cables.

If you use the phone and OTG cable to a USB DAC, what is important is only the DAC as long as the phone has enough CPU power to send the bitstream to the DAC.

There are also network streamer without dac on the market above 6T$ claiming to improve sound quality. If the streaming device (without dac) doesn't matter, than there is no need for such expansive devices.

That is correct. But that does not mean they cannot find customers for their snake oil.
