Does the Senn HD 25-1 sound anything like AT A900?

I know these two headphones are totally different physically but is their sound signature similar at all?

Does the bass on the HD 25-1 have the same impact as on the A900?

I'm just trying to get an idea on sound difference and whether the HD 25-1 would be able to compete soundwise againt the A900. The reason I'm thinking this way is because I was thinking of buying the A900 because I liked the A500, but I also want some portable headphones so the HD 25-1 may be the best choice as my closed headphones instead of the A900, then I wouldn't have to buy two headphones.

Definitely has as much (if not more) impact than the A900. I also think the A900 has a little more deep bass.

The biggest sonic difference between them is a much greater treble extension and sparkle on the A900s. If you need portable cans, I wouldn't consider the A900s because they are just too fragile. If you're using a low power portable, it doesn't get much more efficient than the HD 25-1s. With additional amplification you might consider an Ultrasone or one of the newest Beyerdynamics cans (440/660/860).
