provided that both devices have volume controls and reasonably high input impedances (as they probbaly do - so that the combined impedance dosnt get anywhere near the output impedance of the source) there is very little wrong with using splitters. they are something of a band-aid, but they get the job done.

I think a more appropriate response to your question is another question...
Do you already have a Meier Cantate and how did you get it before release?

I would go for the RCA splitters...check out monoprice.com...

These will work just fine..

Is it the correct way of doing things? yes..
is it the high end audio way where we HAVE to make everything complicated and expensive? no
Will it work for your need? yes
Will you hear a difference between these and the Fancy over priced ones? no

Adding a A/B box is adding more into the chain, in other words now the Audio signal has to pass threw more crap and more cable to get where it has to..
Unless You really need some major splits (like one source driving 5 headphone amps) then don't waste your sound quality, money, and time with a A/B box.

(if you need lots of outputs then look at the Manley skip jack)

yes, go ahead and use the RCA splitters. they are very transparent for 99% of sources. just make sure your source has a reasonably low output impedance (which most sources do).

ditto everything Billy said. I use a pair of those rat-shack adapters to split between my entech => PPA / O1-Headamp.

I got tired of being a telephone switchboard operator every time I wanted to swap amps.

No problems thus far.

Ok but i'll just want to see a pics of a Simple A/B switchbox (not the big box from Mapletree who may cost a lot)

I talk about a 40 $ A/B switchbox, then i'll make my choose

Thank's for all you reply guy's

What range of price should it be so to not degrade quality vs splitter

A $40 switcher will degrade the SQ far more than a splitter will. I'd go with the splitter.

If you only need to split one signal in two, RCA splitters are the simplest, least expensive solution. I've been using Radio Shack RCA splitters for a couple months without any complaints at all.

I'd be impressed if you could notice any differences between the split signal and the unsplit.

Buy the switchbox only if you have too much money in your wallet, dislike simple and effective solutions, or have multiple inputs and outputs to manage.
