The RME seems to be firewire only, and their only solution that could work with mine (PCI) is over $1400. The lynx cards would require me to get a desktop just to run as my music server (maybe i should do this).

um....

thoughts, is it possible to burn blue ray onto a hard drive?

thanks for the suggestions.

The emperical audio offramp 3 does this. It has usb in and I2S, S/PDIF Coax and AES/EBU output. It supports up to 24/96 input. You can also have him install a quality clock in it if you want it to dejitter the signal to a very good level.

a E-MU 0404 to a spidf to AES converter might work given the em-u's ability, the off ramp seems an elegant solution... thanks for the replies.
