I prepare the interconnect cabling between my home hifi system and my already beloved futur Cantate and i wonder if the end of the cable (the 2 RCA who will connect to Amp) have voltage at high level ? do i must avoid them to be in contact one with the other one ?

Newbie question yes

Normally there is no harmful voltage, 2 to 3V RMS from a source when playing but some modified CD players containing tube output buffers may produce a high voltage glitch which is quickly decaying after turning on and does no harm but might be unpleasant when touched. In your case, you can catch a spark from static electricity when any of the components is grounded but the charge goes down the ground pin of the interconnect and if you're not "charged" like from the carpet, nothing will happen.

I don't think it's modified with tube (a normal Sony hifi system) so should be fine

Thank's

The risk of harm to you is minimal unless there is stray voltage conducted which is rare.

How to know ? other possibbility then what majkel said "modified CD players containing tube output" ?

As i said it's a normal small Soni hifi home system, nothing special or modified here
