I don't mean EQ's like the DEQ2496 but EQ units for final mastering use, the likes of for example the Manley Massive Passive.

I'm seriously thinking about trading in the SRM-007t and replacing it with an SRM-717 and such an EQ. From what I've heard of the 717, there isn't technically anything particularly lacking with it but it could do with some 'flavour correction', which a Mastering EQ can provide prior to the amp.

Ideas, thoughts?

He, he, he, that's kinda extreme i love that!

Do you want to play a lot with it, or just for small 'alteration'?

Honestly i think it's paying a lot for the use you gonna have, you better spend a little more a get the 300B preamp, try it with HD-650 or with Qualia 010, you should be happy.
As good as it is you are adding another gear in the signal path.

But why not trying? Usually you can rent that kind of gear for around €30-50 per day. Think you may need XLR adapters or better i think you can use 1/4" mono jack to RCA female. I think the unit is wired unbalanced too.
