Does anyone else just not like partying?

You know it's weird, I keep getting invited to these parties and I realize that I don't have any inclination whatsoever to go. It's not that I think partying and driking is immoral or anything; I don't. I just don't feel like going.

It's weird - I'm very outgoing, generally well-liked, and very involved in the school. I have no idea why I don't like partying. I just kind of think it's a waste of time I guess. I'd rather sit at home and listen to some music. My daily life is so crazy and jammed with things to do and stress that friday nights are the only time I really get to myself I guess. I'm with people 99.999% of the time during the week, it's just nice to be alone for once.

Is there anyone else that is generally popular but dislikes partying? I'm starting to feel bad as I've made up excuses for the last couple of invitations, but I don't want these people to think it has something to do with them.

And it's not like Keystone or Natty Lite make going any more appealing (barf). Kids around here are too cheap to buy real beer. At least get Sam Adams or something....

Depends on the party. If it's a gathering of friends, I'm up for it. Large groups of people I don't know aren't much fun. I'll fade into the background or end up talking with the few people I know.

Decompression from a day of socializing is totally normal. Work is like that these days - there are about 200 of us here and most everyone likes each other. Still, it's something of a relief to go home and do something quietly for a few hours - read, Internet, listen to music, work on a project, that sort of thing.

Errr...no....

Out-going, well-liked, very involved....sounds a LOT like me.

I do go to at least one party a week. The only thing that chages is if I am having a party with 5-6 good friends, dance parties, sorority get-togethers, or floor parties at fraternity houses (the good ones are amazing - when they keep it to the people they know and keep the whole vibe flowing)

Now, I do drink....but do not get drunk. At the very worst it is a bit tipsy feeling, but that is about 10-12 shots later.....my tolerance is wayyyy too high for my own good...and wallet.

Luckily, I got to a school where the lowest you will be served is Miller lite or Bud light. Most places will serve mixed drinks, many of which are made to order...perks of a *rich kid school*. Plus, there is never anything like a "cover charge" here - unless it is something optional for charity.

Personally, I need to party every onece in a while just to get the kinks out.

*I AM 21*

I love when it's a smaller group of people, as it's not all chaotic and it's a great opportunity to have a lot of fun.

The mass-chaos parties are the ones I am talking about. I don't really see a point to them and I wonder why so many people think they are fun?

I partied around a bit when I first got here to "have an open mind" and "try new things" as so many reccomended. I got bored of it really fast.

I'm somewhat the same, I guess some folks just like mingling with random people

Wow I guess I'm going to the wrong parties then. Made to order drinks AND no cover? Here it's either cover or bring your own.

i don't like alcohol. i only drink (extremely lightly) on religious occasions.

i'm afraid to try drugs. and my parents taught me better.

i dislike excessively loud pop music.

i do enjoy a party where i can meet new people or hang with friends, but they have to meet the above criteria.

At parties the drinks are usually as foul as the music being played. I don't drink to get wasted, I don't drink much at all for that matter. When I do drink, I go for quality stuff. I'm much more of a chilled out, small party of close friends type of guy.

Count me in as well!
I used to party each weekend, and sometimes both Thursday, Friday and Saturday. But these days it don't tempt me the slightest. I would much rather stay home with a cold beer or two.

It might be an age thing..

The parties that I remember as fun, like most here, are the ones with small groups of friends where you don't have to be drunk to act silly and have a great time. But the large college blowout parties or dancing badly at nightclubs - no, not really my thing.

I'm not a big partier... which causes a commotion because my girlfriend is. Nothing against drinking, I do it all the time. But I'd rather spend the evening hanging out and watching movies or just go to a friends house and talk over drinks.

The bar scene sucks.
