Hi,

I have a question on something that has me a bit worried.  Does a sound card, in a laptop, that makes a popping noise whenever an audio stream is played damage headphone drivers?

Thanks.

It would depend on how loud the pops are.  Obviously, huge rushes of current can damage headphones, but most headphones can handle more than you would think.

You might have a virus too.  If Doubleclick ends up on your computer it makes a clicking sound during playback!  I had this happen.  Check you Cookies to see if it's there.

Meh, it happens to me sometimes too when I'm adjusting the EQ. It can get pretty loud depending on how loud the amp is turned up. I'd be more worried about your ears than the phones.

Of course if it's not deafening you're fine.
