I use about 100 minutes at the most. My parents use the rest.

I hate text messaging... it's just ridiculously slow. E-mail is much faster, heck, I just call the person when I want to get a hold of them usually. Even AIM is better, in my opinion.

I just found out a month later that I ended with about 12,000. I guess I'm a stereotypical teen then.

How un-Finnish

Looking back, I'd say that most of my mobile phone communication since 2001 has been via SMS. I think that's true for many people in Finland, too. People are busy and don't like to be bothered with telephone calls. If someone has something short and sweet to say to me, I'd much rather feel a little silent buzz in my pocket and check the message at my leisure than answer the phone during work, or at home when I'm with my family, for that matter.

It's weird how differently this service is billed from region to region. It costs me nothing to receive messages from anyone/anywhere, and next to nothing to send messages.

This month I've done 4360 (currently 17 days into the billing cycle). I do about 6540.33 per month after averaging the past three months. In comparison, I do an average of 454.33 minutes per month (over the same time period) including nights, weekends, and mobile-to-mobile. Since nights, weekends, and mobile-to-mobile is free for me, the average actual billable minutes I use per month is 158.33. I don't throttle my usage at all, either. As you can see, I virtually only use texting. I mostly use voice calls when I'm talking to a customer.

EDIT: I have a total of 2100 minutes per month split between five lines, and if it wasn't obvious I have unlimited texting.

I'm on the MTS (only in Manitoba) student plan ($15 a month) with free text, and plenty of minutes, but I never seem to use my minutes up because I text so much. I even have my parents texting so they can talk to me when I'm travelling outside Manitoba.
