Haha I do that sometimes with my streetstyle Sonys (I really need to get to radioshack to get those KSCs..)
It actually helps with the Sonys. Bass appears out of nowhere and they start sounding like real headphones.

I never touch my ms-1s, but always touch/stabilize my k240s and ksc75.
I wonder why?

My W5000s sound less layed back with a bit of squeezing, but it's too tiresome to hold them there.

I find that just pushing on the buttons in the centre of the earpieces with my fingers does improve the sound of my SR60's a bit, without all the horrible horrible side effects of completely covering the backs.
