I have not heard a quality full sized HF, only mid and top tier IEMs such as EX1000, FX700, UM3X and SM3.

For those that have both, which do you prefer and why?

What does a full sized phone offer that an IEM can not?

Thank You

A good full size will give you a more spacial sound. Especially an open headphone.
I really liked the Beyer 880 when I had them, but still preferred the sound signature my UM2 RC IEMs which I guess is why I'm getting a set of customs.
To me they are more comfortable and convenient.

Definately for taking out of the house although when inside I think I prefer over ear headphones... The problem with over ears is that there is always a compromise in one area or another unless you are spending £400 or more. With IEM's it seems you can get very good all rounders for only about £100 with no major weaknesses.

I prefer my open back full size cans, but I can only wear them inside during stationary or low intensity activity....when no one else is in the house to complain about the sound bleeding out, etc.  IEMs have full size beat in every category except sound in my opinion.
