I hate to judge a book by its cover. I've never heard them and don't know anything about them, but I'll put it this way: I would be VERY suprised if they don't suck.
Wait: are they powered speakers? I just read the following in the customer reviews
These speakers hooked up to a Sherwood stereo receiver are pretty decent. They have good sound quality and i like the design of 'em. And with a 100W each speaker they're powerful too! You should definately buy them esspacially for only $19.99
BOL: For US$ 25 per pair, I'd actually think this speakers should be quite good. I've recently bought some similarly priced (30 Euro per pair) Sony spaekers of similar construction, which are also surprisingly good for the price. Speakers like that combined with some priceworthy amp usually beat any pc speaker system.
cmon man just look at the price. If they can afford to sell them for that much and make profit, then they must sound like junk. That being said you could get them for fun and swap the drivers and have $25 finished cabinets. That is unless they are made out of 1/4" plywood.
Gopher: Not powered, guy is just refering to peak power spec.
They might not be that bad. I mean, yeah, nowhere near hifi quality, but cheap speakers + t-amp can be quite listenable. The Polk R15's fall into this catagory and can often be had for $50 a pair at Fry's Electronics.
I'll bet they don't sound that bad. If fact, I'd be willing to put a small amount of money on a bet that to a neutral third party they'd beat any of the single driver crossoverless speakers currently in vogue among audiophiles.
They probably sound better than my first pr of speakers, a Jensen with piezo tweeters I've retrofited instead of the cone tweeters, and they cost 4x as much.
at the risk of thread crapping I'd say why not spend a wee bit more and get a pretty good speaker like the Infinity Primus 150 ($80/pair at Circuit City)

Yeah, I would never buy those, even if they were decent--I was just curious. I was looking at those Infinity speakers though. My friend has Infinity speakers in his car and they're nice.
